📋 Entry & Timings

General admittance to the Calor Field (opposite Harvel Village Pond and backing on to Hart Lane) will be from 12noon on Saturday 5 September. You will be met on arrival and everybody (children included) will be issued with an H Fest wristband. Admission to the Calor Field will only be allowed to those with a wristband. There is no payment at the gate!! Only people with a wristband on will be served at the bar and people not wearing a wristband may be challenged. If you arrive later in the day and the entrance gate is unmanned please collect your wristband at the bar. If you lose your wristband during the day a replacement can be collected from the bar in return for a small charitable “donation”. People are encouraged to arrive between 12 and 1 so you don’t miss any of the music on offer.
General admission / Bar Opening is from 12noon. The bands will be on at the following times:

13:00 – 14:00 — Meg Hardie
14:30 – 15:45 — Peter Azzopardi
16:30 – 18:00 — Funkingstein
18:45 – 20:15 — KP and the Flatline Band
20:15 – 21:00 — DJ Jack Karno
21:00 – 23:00 — Marylebone Jelly
23:00 – 23:59 — DJ Jack Karno

The bar will officially close at 23:00. The Event finishes at midnight.

🍺 Food & Drink

Attendees are kindly asked NOT to bring their own drinks, ESPECIALLY large bottles of Prosecco. There will be random bag checks on entry to enforce this policy. Please remember the aim of the event is to raise money for charity and this will primarily be achieved through bar sales.

We will have a very well stocked and reasonably priced bar in the main marquee offering Real Ale, draft Lager, draft Cider, Prosecco, Wine, Pimms, various Gins, spirits, and a variety of soft drinks.

H-Fest aims to be a NON-GLASS event!!! To reduce waste and risk of broken glass we are encouraging attendees to bring their own NON-GLASS drinks receptacle (pint pot, prosecco flute, gin bucket etc). Plastic H-Fest branded pint and wine glasses will be for sale in the marquee. Any glass bottles served at the bar will need to be returned to the bar once empty.

The bar will officially shut at 23:00.
We intend to have a cashless bar with the facility for payment by card. If the technology fails, we will have to resort to a cash bar. Please help by bringing all the change that is lying around the house with you. To speed service bar customers can buy tokens in bulk and then pay for individual drinks by token.
A selection of hot food will be available from Harvel Farm Shop. Vegetarian options available.

Please do NOT bring your own BBQs, stoves, etc. You are welcome to bring your own picnic but please take your rubbish home.

🚗 Parking

Attendees are encouraged not to bring a car to H Fest where possible. We want the event to be as green and as safe as possible, so please leave your car at home if you can and either walk, get a taxi or get dropped off.

There will be NO parking on the Calor Field (except for pre-booked camper vans/caravans). Parking will be available in a nearby field on Dean Lane within walking distance of the Calor Field – signage will indicate location of parking. Please note that the parking field will have recently been cleared of the cows that graze there – please watch your step in the dark!!! We suggest bringing a torch to safely navigate back to your car.

Please do not disrupt traffic in the village by parking elsewhere – outside houses (unless you have permission), grass verges, village hall, outside cricket club/disused pubs etc.

The entrance to the Calor Field will be a dropping off/picking up point. No parking will be permitted here.

⛺ Camping

Those wishing to camp at H Fest must book and pay (£10) for their pitches in advance. One area has been allocated in the Calor Field for tents and another area for camper vans/caravans. Particular pitches within these areas are on a first-come-first-served basis.

Tents can be pitched and camper vans can be parked from 12noon on Friday 4 September, although H Fest attendees are encouraged not to stay in tents and campers on Friday night without prior approval.

There will be no vehicle access to the Calor Field after 11:00 on Saturday 5 September for safety purposes (other than by prior arrangement and emergencies). Camper vans and caravans must be in place in the Calor Field by 11:00. Cars dropping off tents must be in and out by 11:00 on 5 September.

🎸 On the Day

Portable toilets, including a disabled toilet and men’s urinal pod will be available on the Calor Field. Toilet roll and hand sanitiser will be provided but campers might want to bring their own just in case.
We hope to have a large fire pit area to improve the evening ambience and to keep everybody toasty when the sun goes down. This will be positioned well away from tents, campers, marquees etc and a decent distance from the front of stage/dance area.

Parents need to ensure that children are accompanied if around the fire pit.

If anybody is able to donate firewood it would be extremely helpful – please deliver to the Calor Field from Thursday 3 September, not before as we are regularly cutting grass and strimming to make the venue look beautiful.
Parents are responsible for their children at all times. We suggest that children do not run/walk around the Calor Field with bare feet. Children under 18 will not be served at the bar.
Attendees are encouraged not to bring dogs to the event where possible. 400+ people, loud music and fire pits are probably not the best surroundings for dogs.

If you are not able to make alternative arrangements and bring a dog, they must be kept on a lead at all times held by the owner or a responsible adult. Dogs are not allowed near the firepit and are not allowed in the marquee. The organisers reserve the right to ban dogs/owners that cause annoyance or do not control their dog.
Equipment will be provided for volleyball. Attendees are encouraged to set up their own games and invite others to participate but please look after the equipment and be mindful of the impact that your games might have on other people, tents, camper vans, BBQ, etc.
Future H Fest events are dependent on the behaviour of all attendees. The stage and rear of stage area is for the bands, sound engineers and designated organising staff ONLY.

Please manage your alcohol intake – we do not want a visit from the emergency services!! Aggressive or violent persons will be asked to leave the event by our dedicated security team.

Campers and people leaving the event are asked to be considerate to neighbours and keep noise to a minimum.
Bins will be provided throughout the Calor Field. Please do not throw any litter, including food waste, on the floor. Where possible all attendees and campers in particular should take any rubbish home with them. The Calor Field must be quickly returned to its original state and animal pasture and we don’t want sheep chewing on Pimms fruit, leftover burgers or Prosecco corks.

🙌 Get Involved

There is a hell of a lot to do in the days leading up to H Fest and on the day.

The marquee will be erected on the evening of Wednesday 2 September. Preparations will be required throughout Friday 4 September and we would welcome volunteers from H4 and the village to help out on the Saturday morning.

We will also need help tidying up and breaking down on Sunday 6 September. Many hands make light work and this is a Community Event!!
Most importantly the aim is to have fun!!!! Why not dress up in your best festival clothes (flowery shirts and dresses are a must) and pay a visit to our face painter on the day. You will want to look good for our professional photographer who will be taking photos for posterity. Let’s make Harvel a slice of Glasto or IoW or Latitude for the day!!!
